Walking the ancient Inca trails is incredible… but traveling them by mountain bike is an even more exciting experience.
On this tour we combine history and adventure, riding along authentic Inca roads that cross Cusco and the Sacred Valley. During the tour we will observe archaeological remains, agricultural platforms and ancient water channels built by the Incas, all while enjoying incredible descents in the Peruvian Andes.
Itinerary
Itinerary
Today we will explore two routes of great historical importance: Chinchero Balcony and Lares Trail.
After approximately 1 hour of transfer, we arrived at the viewpoint of the archaeological center of Chinchero. From here we begin our adventure.
1️Chinchero Balcony
We start with a fun and dynamic enduro style section that connects to an ancient Inca trail. This part becomes more technical, with loose terrain, Inca stands and sharp curves. We finish the descent in the town of Urquillos, where we will enjoy a delicious lunch.
2️ Lares Trail
In the afternoon we continue towards the Lares route. The trail starts with a screen slope optional that connects with a wide Inca trail. It is a very fluid and fast route that crosses rocky sections and a small canyon.
One of the most special points is to explore an old Inca water channel, a practically flat 3 km stretch that takes us to Parco. From there we begin a fun and fluid descent that crosses small shepherd towns and ends with an urban DH in Calca.
We finished the day with some beers in the square before returning to Cusco.
