Riding in the Sacred Valley is spectacular… but if you want to live the best line in the area, this is the route.
The Máxima Recargada has it all: height, technique, flow, impressive views and a long and intense descent. It is one of those routes that simply must ride when you visit the Sacred Valley.
Itinerary
Itinerary
Considered one of the most epic and demanding routes in the Sacred Valley, La Máxima Recargada begins at 4,200 m altitude. To get to the starting point we will hike-a-bike for approximately 10 minutes.
The adventure begins by traveling along a rocky ridge with small ups and downs until reaching the last peak. From there begins a spectacular descent along a single track that combines freeride and enduro sections until reaching an impressive viewpoint of the valley.
The first half of the trail is narrow and rocky, technical and demanding. In the second half, the route transforms into a more aggressive DH-style descent, with fast sections, numerous tight corners and loose terrain that requires total concentration until the end.
Upon completing this great line, we headed to Urubamba to enjoy a delicious lunch.
In the afternoon we will ride the Chicón trail, located on the slopes of the Nevado Chicón snow-capped mountain. This place offers one of the most impressive views of the Sacred Valley. The descent combines a technical and fluid single track, with steep sections and loose terrain, ending in the main square before returning to Cusco. An intense, technical and absolutely unforgettable day.
Note
If you are on your way to Machu Picchu, we can also end the tour in the town or station of Ollantaytambo so you can continue your adventure towards the wonder of Machupicchu.
