Prepárate para una aventura épica llena de historia, cultura, gastronomía y, sobre todo, MTB en los Andes peruanos. Durante nuestra estadía recorreremos las mejores rutas de Cusco y el Valle Sagrado, atravesando antiguos caminos incas y senderos naturales que nos llevarán a centros arqueológicos, minas de sal, aguas termales y pequeños cañones. Visitaremos pueblos de pastores con paisajes espectaculares y disfrutaremos de descensos de MTB únicos hasta llegar a la sagrada ciudadela de Machu Picchu.

Itinerary

Day 1

Cusco – Welcome day

Arrival in Cusco and reception by the team Kinti Biking at Velasco Astete airport. Transfer to the hotel in the city center to rest, assemble the bicycles and enjoy lunch. Later, we will explore the historic center, its viewpoints and the San Pedro Market.

Note: It is recommended to arrive before 12:00 pm to make the most of the first day.

Recommendations

  • Arrive in Cusco at least one day before the start of the tour to facilitate acclimatization to the altitude.
  • Wear clothing suitable for different climates: cold in high areas and temperate climate in the Sacred Valley.
  • Wear sunscreen, sunglasses and a cap to protect yourself from radiation at altitude.
  • Carry a hydration backpack or reusable bottles to stay hydrated during the routes.
  • Bring MTB gloves, appropriate shoes and technical clothing for greater comfort when pedaling.
  • Use insect repellent especially during routes near vegetation areas.
  • Carry a small backpack with personal items such as a camera, documents and cash.
  • Travel insurance that covers mountain biking is recommended.
  • Rest well before each MTB day to better enjoy the routes.
  • Always follow the guide's instructions to maintain safety during descents.

Questions and Answers

What level of experience is needed for this tour?

This tour is designed for intermediate to advanced riders who have previous experience on technical trails, long descents and varied terrain.

What type of bicycle is recommended for this tour?

A full suspension mountain bike is recommended, ideally enduro or all-mountain with a travel of 140–170 mm.

What is the weather like during the adventure?

The climate can vary quite a bit. In the high areas it can be cold, while in the Sacred Valley the climate is usually milder and more pleasant during the day.

How technical are the trails?

Some routes include rock gardens, hairpin turns, steep descents, Inca stands, and stretches of technical singletrack.

What happens if I have mechanical problems during a route?

The guides carry basic tools and essential spare parts to solve most mechanical problems during the routes.
